What we do.

At MEPT, our work begins with connection — to horses, to nature, and to one another.

We create safe, sensory-aware spaces where individuals of all ages and abilities can explore emotional wellbeing, build trust, and rediscover their strengths through gentle, horse-led experiences.

Our work.

At MEPT, we create safe, inclusive spaces where people and animals heal together.

Based in Mawdesley, Lancashire, our work blends therapeutic riding, nature-based education, and community outreach to support emotional wellbeing and animal welfare.

Through hands-on experiences with our rescued horses, participants build trust, confidence, and connection—often for the first time. We work with schools, charities, and families to offer trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming programmes that make a lasting difference.

From hoofbeats to heartbeats, our impact is felt in every moment of calm, every story shared, and every second chance given.

Jigsaw Stables.

Every horse has a story — and every story matters.

At Jigsaw Stables, we believe in second chances—for horses and for people. Many of our equine partners arrived with labels like “unrideable” or “too damaged to save.” Some were facing euthanasia. Others carried physical injuries or emotional scars from past experiences. But here, they’re met with patience, purpose, and care.

Through gentle rehabilitation and trust-building, these horses rediscover safety and connection—and in turn, they offer it to others. Many have become steady companions for children navigating anxiety, quiet anchors for those healing from trauma, and gentle guides for anyone seeking an insight into trust, connection, and the quiet language of care. Their stories don’t end with rescue—they begin again, as part of something deeply meaningful.

Rainbow’s End.

A sanctuary for quiet connection.

Located next to Jigsaw Stables, Rainbow’s End is our sensory-friendly nature reserve—a peaceful, inclusive space where people and wildlife thrive side by side. It offers a gentle alternative to traditional outdoor experiences, especially for those who find busy environments overwhelming.

Rainbow’s End is more than a place—it’s a philosophy. It reflects MEPT’s trauma-informed approach to wellbeing, where safety, choice, and connection come first. Whether it’s a child discovering the joy of planting seeds, a teenager finding stillness in a hammock, or a family reconnecting through shared outdoor time, Rainbow’s End offers moments of restoration that ripple far beyond the day.

Donate. Volunteer. Connect.

Every hoofbeat counts—and so can you.

Whether you choose to donate, volunteer your time, or help spread the word, your support helps us rescue and rehabilitate horses, offer life-changing sessions to children and adults, and keep our quiet corner of Mawdesley thriving. From mucking out to marketing, every act of kindness builds connection, confidence, and community. Join us in making second chances possible—for people and ponies alike.
